An interesting note issued by the Labor Exchange . In 1890, Mr. G.B. DeBernardi organized a worker\'s cooperative called the Labor Exchange, an association of members who deposited goods that they produced into an Exchange Warehouse. For their deposits they received these notes, which in turn could be redeemed for goods withdrawn from the Warehouse. It was an interesting idea, but failed by 1901. There were many problems associated with the plan, such as balancing the products produced with the products to be withdrawn. These interesting and colorful notes are quite rare and represent a great piece of history for the curious collector.
